Words
We have that saying that sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. That was fine for little cute kids while they are young enough to be friends with anyone. But now we all are a lot older than that and lets be really, raw and honest here. Words do and can hurt you there are people out there in the world who go to sleep and wake up thinking of new different ways of hurting someone with their words. Now, some people call it telling it like is. That’s all good and I endorse that brand of thinking but if you doing it because you don’t like the idea they have or whatever the case maybe you’ll lash out at them with the first thing that pops into your head. Don’t you all know that sometimes “shoot straight from the hip” words hurt. And please don’t get me wrong I know that sometimes you need to be snapped back into reality with “tough love” but not when the weight of the world is on someone’s shoulders. Words can and do hurt us (and us refers to everybody) either they be Christian or not or believer or not words hurt. But hey if you want to take time out of your day to say whatever you want to say then so be it. All I want to say is that we have to watch our words because we don’t how they will affect the person in the end. Even Christians and believers should be watching what we are saying to someone. Regardless if we are having a bad day or not just choose our words carefully. And not let our personal judgments come into play when talking to someone who is not doing the right things of God. Who knows your words can probably win them to Christ where the preacher, minister or pastor couldn’t get through. Yes, stick and stones will break your bones but so will the words that people say.
Thank you and God bless
