Trust in the Lord is something that is easy for some of us and for others it's not so easy. Actually, its very hard lets be real here people. Think about it just sit back in your chair and think about it how can we trust in someone we can't see. For some people in and people of the world trusting in the Lord is understandably not done because they do not trust or believe in God in the first place. So, how can the person accept that Jesus came to the Earth and died for them but for the Christian trust is something that should be done every second of every minute of every hour and put into practice in our daily lives. Of course, even for us Christians trusting in God has its ups and downs and sometimes we "forget" to trust in the Lord.
Now, you may wonder how can a person "forget" to trust in the Lord. Well, my brothers and sisters when are going oh so right in our lives we "forget" to do that thing called prayer or we do pray but its relegated to thanking God for this and that like health and his glory upon you for that day or week. Another thing is reading the Bible when everything is going right we read the Bible a little bit and we might even read our favorite verses. But when the problems and pressures of life the Bible becomes our bestest friends till God delivers us from the thing. How many of us have struggled with trusting in God. Oh come now I know I'm not the only one person with his hand raised. Well, anywho yes there have been times where I haven't trusted in the Lord as well as I should have. And the results were just so harmful that it's not funny.
So, you're asking well who did he trust if he didn't trust God. It says in Psalm chapter five verse eleven and it reads "But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee" how come you can put trust in the Lord when the bills are paid, when love ones love us with unconditional love, your wallet is full and bank account is as well, etc…etc. But what about when that one bill is due and the rates went up, what about that loved one is on the ungodly path or something was said between you all, or what about when the bank account is nearing the end and your wallet looks like a ghost town. Where is the trust in the Lord then but for some it went right out the window which leads to the person to withdraw slowly from the Lord day by day. For it says Psalm 91 verse 2, "I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust." So, if you can trust in the Lord on Sunday in church then why can't you trust him on Monday or for the rest of the week.
A question comes up when we pull away from God and stop trusting in him. Do you know we will put our full trust into man first and sometimes only trust man. Trusting man and not God can have its dangerous consequences for us believers. In the 118 chapter of Psalm and the eighth verse says "It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man." Man is made by God but is not God. There is a saying that says that God created man but I'm here to say that man didn't create God. God gives man all of his intelligence and sometimes man doesn't make the best of decisions. Yet some will put their full trust in man when we all know full well that man will make a bad decision. We have seen man fail and fall so many times that you would think that we would believe in God instead. But once again we don't and it isn't till we are fed up trusting in man than God. So, me and my house will trust in God for all things and not man.
